HINULGANG TAKTAK NATIONAL PARK

Hinulugan Taktak is a waterfall located in Taktak Road, Brgy. Dela Paz, Antipolo City. It was once a popular tourist destination famous for its refreshing and idyllic falls. It has been considered as one of the most important landscapes in the Province of Rizal, playing a role in the province’s legendary history and a part in Antipolo’s natural and cultural heritage. Legend has it that during the 16th century, a local priest was forced by the local people to drop the bell in the river due to its harsh and unbearably loud sound when rung during Angelus; thus the name “Hinulugan Taktak,” which literally means “where the bell was dropped.

MYSTICAL CAVE

Mystical Cave is one of the tourist spot in Antipolo City. It is maintained by Inday Nelly. You can see here many religious and holy stalagmite and stalactite formed by water. From the name itself, “Mystical” because of the holy images found inside the cave. The water and stone inside the cave is said to be precious because it can heal sick people and can protect you from harm. They believe that the stone inside the cave can be your “anting-anting” . This place is religious, because of the rocks that forms different images of Jesus, Adam and Eve, Nazarene, Mama Mary, Pieta, Holy Trinity, St. Peter, St. Bernadette and many more. And of course the holy water and precious water that drips of to the cave can heal people.

ANTIPOLO CATHEDRAL

OUR LADY OF PEACE AND GOOD VOYAGE”

The Antipolo Cathedral is home of Antipolo’s renowned miraculous icon, the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. Historians say that this miraculous image has sailed back and forth between Manila and Acapulco eight times, and on several occasions, was credited with saving her galleon from destruction by pirates and Dutch and British blockades. The galleon’s safe arrivals were attributed to the miraculous power of the statuette. This church was established in 1578. When the image was brought to the town of Antipolo on November 26, 1926 by Archbishop Michael o’Doherty, it was then, that the pilgrimage to Virgin Mary started. Thousands of devotees especially those intending to travel abroad come to pay homage to Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage to ask for safe voyage.

Rizal is one of the Philippines first class provinces that belongs to CALABARZON (CA-vite, LA-guna, BA-tangas, R-izal, Que-ZON) Region or region IV-A in the island of Luzon.
